Recently we received an enquiry from a company working in the pipeline coating industry, spraying polyurethane on pipe joints. They came to us looking for a maintenance partner, following a persistent leak on a machine. Following initial investigations it became clear that their incumbent spray equipment provider was persistently misdiagnosing the issue, believing it to be a packing issue. We noticed wear and tear on the rod. Because the rod was damaged, the packing was unable to fit and seal properly so replacing the packing was never going to resolve the leak. The rod needed to be replaced.

Machine maintenance can sometimes be expensive but not diagnosing the problem can cost twice as much in time and replacement, or new parts that are not going to work. Following an audit of their full machine range we have also been able to advise on more effective machine set up, which should result in efficiency savings.
