At Spray Plant 2K Ltd, we have long standing relationships with many of our customers and we’re always happy to develop relationships with new customers. But how well do you know the team? Many of our staff have worked at Spray Plant for years and make this company the positive environment it currently is to work. We'd like to introduce them to you, with our new ‘Meet the Team’ series.

First up, meet Dave Shields, General Manager

Tell us about your Spray Plant 2K journey:

Before Spray Plant 2K, I worked as a Service Engineer, servicing spray machines in industry, that’s where I gained most of my in-depth technical knowledge about spray machines.

When I joined Spray Plant 2K, I was Marks first employee. I started in the workshop, servicing machines but I also worked on site, running machines on behalf of clients or trialling new materials. This took me offshore, working on oil riggs and as far afield as Singapore. Dubia, Tokyo and Kazakhstan!

After 13 years in the workshop, I became the Workshop Manager; organising the work, supporting our team of engineers, and liaising with customers on technical specs and any issues they had.

Since 2021, I have been General Manager. I’ve had to learn lots of new skills, with regards to invoicing and purchasing (which has sometimes been outside of my comfort zone!), and gain an even deeper understanding of materials and make sure that our customers are purchasing or hiring the right machine for the job they want to do.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to play golf and am a long-standing member of Normanton Golf Club.

I enjoy riding my Honda CBR100R motorbike and love my road trips abroad with friends.

Closer to home, I’m a husband and father of two and more recently a Grandad too!

I’m proud to work for Spray Plant 2K, we are a team. We have lots of experience and expertise, and we really try to provide a quality service to our customers above all other things.
